The Hāwea Food Forest Pumpkin Festival is a celebration of community, creativity and sustainable living. Visitors can enjoy a range of hands-on workshops, including introductions to biodynamics, foraging adventures, pruning techniques and apple preserving, giving participants practical skills and inspiration for their own gardens and kitchens.
There’s also a fun pumpkin competition with prizes for the biggest, funniest, and prettiest pumpkins, with public voting for some categories. Families can explore interactive information boards, take photos at the festival backdrop and enjoy fun activities throughout the day.
The event brought to you by the Upper Clutha Food Security Network, in collaboration with the Hāwea Food Forest is designed to be accessible, engaging, and full of ideas for anyone interested in gardening, seasonal produce, and community connection.
