Attend this 1.5 hour workshop with Erin Allison at Harvest Homegrown in Hawea Flat, Wānaka with Erin Allison to understand how local light and temperature patterns shape seasonal vegetable growing and how to plan for year round garden productivity.

Understand Our Local Growing Climate

Join me at Harvest Homegrown Market Garden in Hawea Flat Wanaka, to learn about how our local climate affects our veggie growing. We live in a unique area where both light levels and temperature dramatically affect our growing seasons. Understand what's happening during each season so you can grow as abundantly as possible at your place.

This workshop will be especially beneficial for growers who have recently moved to the area, but also for any grower wanting to maximise their gardens and eat homegrown produce year round.

This 1.5 hour workshop is available on the following dates:

  • Sunday 17 May 2026, 10.30am - 12noon

  • Sunday 14 June 2026, 12.30pm - 2pm

Growing in Our Local Climate

  • How does our climate affect our growing

  • The effects of light on growth

  • What does this mean for producing veggies over winter

  • How does this affect our spring gardens

  • When do we need to plant our winter gardens

You will leave with an in depth knowledge of our local growing climate and able to plant an abundant veggie garden for all seasons.
