The Hāwea Food Forest is organising a series of seed swap & seed planting workshops this spring. Come along to swap, plant and learn about seeds!

We are planning 4 sessions of seed swapping and planting this year. We will look at what seeds are good to plant at each stage of the season, planting methods, and share knowledge and seeds. The seed workshops are supported by the Hāwea Community Association who have provided funding. If you don’t have seeds to swap don’t worry we have some we have saved and have ordered seeds from Kings Seeds so we will have a range to plant at the workshops.

August 20th – 1pm Hāwea Food Forest or Hāwea Domain Hub depending on weather. Bring seeds to swap if you have any. Seed raising mix,  seeds and containers will be provided.

August 22nd – for those who can’t make it on the Thursday we will have another session on the Saturday. Seed raising/swapping 12pm at the Hāwea Food Forest again or if the weather is not great in the new Domain Hub.

September 19th  seed raising/planting/swapping 12pm the Hāwea Food Forest.

October 17th final seed raising/planting/swapping session 12pm at the Hāwea Food Forest.

Cost: FREE (supported by the Hāwea Community Association)
