Dr Karamia Müller
Dr Karamia Müller is a Sāmoan architectural scholar, educator and research leader based at Waipapa Taumata Rau | University of Auckland.
She is a Senior Lecturer in Te Pare School of Architecture and Planning, Co-Director of MĀPIHI Māori and Pacific Housing Research Centre, and a Royal Society Te Apārangi Mana Tūāpapa Future Leader Fellow. Through her fellowship, Transforming the Future of Pacific Housing, Karamia explores how Pacific-led knowledge, design and housing innovation can shape more just, resilient and culturally grounded housing futures across Aotearoa and the Pacific. Her work brings together Indigenous and Pacific spatial knowledge, architecture, housing systems and community-engaged research. She works relationally with communities, researchers and the housing sector to advance housing dignity, systems change and intergenerational wellbeing.
Karamia will be speaking at Designing with Māori and Pacific Values and the Better Building Panel on the Better Building Day.
