Meet our LOCAL biodiversity, climate and circular economy GROUPS and BUSINESSES and participate in exciting interactive WORKSHOPS (outdoors amongst the trees).
STALLS:
Hāwea Food Forest (learn about the local Food Forest, seed saving and planting), Wānaka Backyard Trapping (find out how it’s done), WAI Wānaka (connect to the creatures that live in local waterways), The Guardians of Lake Hawea (find out how they care for our Lake water quality, biodiversity and ecosystems), Upper Clutha Wilding Tree Group (regional pest management), Protect Our Winters Aotearoa (drop-in advocacy workshop + merch), Wastebusters (make bug hotels with reuse and natural materials - kids must be with a parent), Regenerative Wānaka (inspiration to live regeneratively in Wānaka), Bee The Change (taste and purchase local honey), Wise Moon Wellness (buy locally made herbal skincare and remedies), Sustainable Periods (learn about reusable period products for sustainable menstruation), Your Garden Coach NZ (check out their beginner gardener display, Seed Swap, etc.), Dripping Bowl (taste their new range of wholefood sauces!), Tiaki Bees (hire your own beehive!), Botanica (buy their beautiful fresh locally grown produce) and Frog Song Farm (get your hands on their organic heirloom tomato seedling plants)!

Join us in the enchanting Beehive Dome for an inspiring afternoon of film. Recline in comfort as we showcase impactful documentaries that illuminate the stories of passionate individuals transforming their communities and nurturing a more ecological culture. These three filmmakers believe in the power of storytelling to inspire change and share wisdom, highlighting the seeds of a more beautiful world being sown around us. Immerse yourself in these captivating narratives and leave feeling inspired to make a difference!

4pm-6pm:NATURE’S SYMPHONY (outdoors with lake and mountain views - In case of bad weather, the event will take place inside the spacious geodesic dome for a sheltered yet immersive experience)
Join us for the summit finale held in a relaxed campfire style on the shores of Lake Hāwea. From the time first footprints touched these islands, this land has shaped who we are as a people. Sit surrounded by our lakes, mountains, and bush and soak up stunning music by Glenorchy’s Nature’s Symphony, stories from the beginning of our local history, led by Ron Bull (Waitaha, Kati Mamoe, Kai Tahu), and nature and community-inspired spoken word pieces by Zoe Hawkins.
The Nature’s Symphony is a magical sound journey brought to us by creator Johnny Scott, with talented multi instrumentalist Carlos Reigel, world-renowned harpist and musician Kate Targett-Adams and Eco Somatic movement facilitator Sierra Espinal. Nature’s Symphony is an ecosystem, weaving diverse musical soundscapes and an ecology of storytelling & education together in a living harmony. This unique curation fosters an immersive experience of creativity and culture to support regenerative action.

Car Parking: our volunteers will ask you to park by the wharf or at a specific location - please follow their directions.
Come prepared: most of the festival is held outdoors, bring sun protection & a water bottle, as well as a rug & warm layers for the Nature’s Symphony. Feel free to bring a picnic too!
Cancellation policy: If adverse weather conditions or other factors force the cancellation of the Festival of Nature, Wao will issue a full refund to all ticket holders. We will notify ticket holders as soon as possible via email and our website.
