Event Details:
What if a folded piece of paper could become a tool for climate action?
In this fun interactive workshop, you’ll use zine-making (a playful, cut-and-paste-and-draw creative process) to express your vision for a sustainable future and explore how we can use our individual skills to bring about change.
This workshop is open to adults and young people. Attendees under 18 come free but must still register. Children and youth under 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Led by Melanie Joan Lloyd from ClimateChangeBowl, the session kicks off with a short kōrero on local climate and sustainability issues, then dives into creating your own mini zine using collage, drawing and writing. At the end you can take your zine home with you or she with others to enjoy!
Please bring: your own scissors, glue stick and any old magazines you’re happy to cut up. Paper for the zines and some additional materials will be provided. All ages welcome, no creative experience needed. Great for kids!
