What is Better Building
More than anything, Better Building is a mentality. Yes statistics, numbers, financials, and many other quantifiable metrics are important, but it all starts with you, your mindset, and your attitude.
This is How We Build is a Southern Lakes driven initiative aimed at helping improve the way the building and construction sector works. It’s not just about builders, but for the entry building and construction ecosystem. From designers and architects, to suppliers and developers. Even council, community groups and home builders. The industry is wide and varied and tackling better building needs to be a team effort.
The Southern Lakes region is in a unique position to help lead the way in showing how better building can happen across New Zealand/Aotearoa.
However, it’s not up to the big players to make the difference, it comes down to each individual. Not only can each individual make a big impact, but we can also help influence those around us. If you’re part of a better building team, its also up to us to help spread better building awareness to contractors, suppliers, designers, even our own team mates.
The Southern Lakes is one of the most beautiful places in New Zealand. Better building will help keep it that way, paving an environmentally and socially friendly path forward for generations to come.
No matter the motive, better building is something we can all jump on board with.
