  • What would you have organised?

What would a bike-centric town look like?

Let’s strengthen our community’s love of bikes and active transport culture with a month of bike-centric events held every October in the Southern Lakes and Central Otago.

Are you an organisation, a business or just a passionate individual with a love of bikes? Do you have an idea for an event? Or want to create your own?

Next year (at the latest in July) get in touch with kiaora@wao.co.nz!

What is Get SMART, Get Moving all about?

Get SMART, Get Moving is a one of Wao’s initiatives designed to tackle the environmental impact of how we move.

Transport emissions make up 50% of our total emissions as a district and changing the way we move is one of the easiest ways we can make an impact on reducing these.

Changing the way we move means more biking, walking and collective transport options. Together we can make active travel part of Southern Lakes culture all the while supporting healthier communities.
