Psychiatrist Dr Ivan Lin leads a full day masterclass exploring the powerful connections between soil health, food quality and mental wellbeing. Nourishing the Mind brings together insights from nutritional psychiatry, regenerative agriculture and the science of the gut–brain connection, highlighting how the way we grow food can influence both physical and mental health.
Hosted at Sherwood in Queenstown, the workshop includes hands on demonstrations of soil microscopy and nutrient density testing, a visit to Sherwood’s organic garden, and conversations with regenerative farmer Amanda Currie of Tinwald Farm. Endorsed by the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners, the event welcomes growers, health professionals and anyone interested in the deeper links between land, food systems and wellbeing.
From a food resilience perspective, the workshop explores how healthy soils produce nutrient dense food, and how these relationships help support resilient communities and healthier minds.
