Charlotte Muschamp is the founder and principal designer of Alki, a boutique architecture studio based in Wānaka.

A registered architect in Washington State (USA), Certified Passive House Designer, and Homestar Designer and Assessor, she brings a strong foundation in building science alongside a passion for natural materials and thoughtful design.

Raised on a sheep farm in Southland, Charlotte's work is grounded in a deep respect for land, resourcefulness, and place. Through Alki, she explores how architecture can balance performance, durability, and environmental responsibility with beauty, craftsmanship, and emotional resonance.

Her projects draw on both international experience and local knowledge, creating homes that are healthy, enduring, and connected to the people and landscapes they are designed for.

Charlotte will be speaking at the Yakisugi StrawSIPs Cabin on the Better Building Day Tour at the Wao Summit 2026.
