Sam Parsons

Sam is a nature and climate change resilience specialist with experience in nature-related risk assessments, nature-based solutions, and nature strategy development across government, community, and private sector organisations.

Sam leads Boffa Miskell’s Nature and Climate Change discipline, working collaboratively across Boffa Miskell’s landscape, urban design, planning, ecology, and biosecurity teams to help clients to understand and manage their nature-related risks and opportunities. Particularly in understanding physical and ecosystem service risks, developing nature-based adaptation options and natural infrastructure, improving asset and portfolio nature resilience, and increasing the integration of nature into risk and investment decisions. With a strong background in practical environmental conservation and climate adaptation, Sam advocates a strong nature-based approach in the delivery of sustainable and resilient places and spaces for people and natural ecosystems to thrive

Sam will be speaking at the Investing in Nature session on Te Taiao Day and joining the Evening Kōrero: The Age of Complexity panel on Better Business Day at Wao Summit 2026. He will also be speaking at The Role of Nature in the Built Environment, the Better Building Panel and the Water, Landscape and Catchment-Style Thinking session on Better Building Day.
