Your Climate Wake-Up Call

  • Rippon Hall 246 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road Wānaka, Otago Region, 9382 New Zealand (map)

Event Details: The climate conversation isn’t over, it’s just getting started.

As the climate crisis deepens, the conversation seems to be slipping from public consciousness. Extreme weather events, rising emissions, and biodiversity loss are accelerating, yet meaningful climate action remains sidelined. Are we falling asleep at the wheel? To truly shift systems, we need climate to be front and centre in our decisions, policies, classrooms, and culture.

This session brings together some of Aotearoa’s leading climate experts, strategists, and changemakers to offer a clear-eyed look at where we are right now and where we can go from here. Together, we’ll unpack the latest science, political signals, and social trends to assess the true state of play.

We’ll also explore how reconnecting with te taiao (the natural world) can guide communities, councils, and countries toward a thriving, regenerative future. This is a space for honest reflection, bold ideas, and shared momentum.

Because the future is still ours to shape. Let’s do it together.

What to Expect / Key Takeaways:

  • A future-focused update on the state of climate science, social momentum, and political pathways.

  • Inspiring ideas for bringing climate back into the mainstream across education, media, governance, and community life.

  • A hopeful vision grounded in connection with nature, long-term leadership, and collective courage.
