From Garden to Jar: Seasonal Sweet and Savoury Preserves

  • Rippon Hall 246 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road Wānaka, Otago Region, 9382 New Zealand (map)

Discover the joy of preserving food with Emma and Lucy from Central Otago REAP. They’ll bring freshly picked vegetables from the Alexandra Shared Garden and foraged or home-grown fruit, ready to transform into delicious jams and preserves.

Learn simple, practical techniques to make the most of seasonal produce, reduce food waste, and capture the flavours of Central Otago. Perfect for beginners or anyone wanting to refresh their preserving skills. You’ll go home with a jar of jam and a jar of preserve, and more importantly, the know-how to safely repeat the process at home and enjoy your creations for months to come.

Emma leads Central Otago REAP’s adult learning programmes, and Lucy facilitates sustainability courses through Enviroschools, bringing hands-on experience and local knowledge to every jar.

What to Bring: Please bring an apron and a camera for taking photos.

Tickets: $15
