Guy Shaw

Guy is the founder and director of Energy Architecture NZ, as well as the treasurer for the Passive House Institute New Zealand (PHINZ) and Air Permeability Testing NZ (APTNZ).

Guy is a Registered Architect, Certified Passivhaus Designer, and Registered Building Air Permeability Tester based in Te Whanganui a Tara/Wellington, New Zealand. Through Energy Architecture NZ Ltd, he specializes in designing and delivering durable, healthy buildings, often to the rigorous Passivhaus standard.

With extensive experience from projects in the UK and New Zealand, Guy is also known for retrofits, designing prefabrication systems and working with diverse client groups, including private, developer, church, and iwi.

As Treasurer of Passive House Institute New Zealand (PHINZ), Guy actively promotes sustainable building. He is a frequent speaker, particularly on communicating healthy building concepts to various audiences and sharing practical insights on prefabrication & building perfomance.
