Tanya Simmonds

Tanya Simmonds, a passionate advocate for hemp and its vast potential across various industries, founded the hemp fibre processing company, HempCentral Ltd based out of Queensbury, NZ.

With a background in nursing, Tanya's interest in hemp began five years ago while seeking alternative pain relief options in the world of CBD. As she delved deeper into the many sustainable and beneficial properties of the hemp plant, she attended local hemp grower meetings and participated in the New Zealand Industrial Hemp Summit in 2021. This experience expanded her understanding of hemp's applications, particularly in the construction industry.

Tanya has since focused on building a strong network of local and international industry experts, eager to explore and share the remarkable potential of this versatile plant.

Tanya will be helping with the Natural & Regenerative Materials Workshop during the Better Building Day at Wao Summit 2025.
