Food Resilience Day

  • Upper Clutha Wānaka, Otago Region New Zealand (map)

Event Details: Climb aboard the Food Resilience Tour Bus for a full day of discovery, connection, and learning as we journey through the Upper Clutha to explore what it really takes to build a thriving local food system. Purchase a Food Resilience Pass to attend.

Join us for a full-day journey into the heart of local food resilience. We’ll visit three inspiring producers — Grow Wānaka Community Garden, Frog Song Farm, and Red Bridge Farm — where you’ll tour their sites, hear their stories, and learn from initiatives like Garden to Table, the Southern Lakes Kai Collective, and community champion Janice Lee.

Along the way, we will unpack the three key shifts needed to secure our food future:

  • Changing mindsets through education,

  • Driving change through policy,

  • Growing the growers to boost local production.

Your day begins with morning coffee and includes a delicious Fox & Badger Catering lunch. The experience continues into the evening with Feeding the Future, a thought-provoking panel kōrero, and also includes access to Saturday’s Slow the Flow event with Ella Lawton.

Included in your pass: Daytime tour and bus transport, morning coffee, lunch, Feeding the Future evening session, and Slow the Flow on Saturday.

Lunch is kindly sponsored by our partner organisation Community Link.

Friday Programme: 9am–4pm Day Tour | 5–7pm Evening Kōrero
